Looking for an affordable solution to take images of large
subjects while still taking advantage
of your artificial light?
Get a Wide Angle Lens for your Housing!

Wide angle photography refers to images that reveal a greater angle than what can be seen by the human eye. In the case of small subjects, a wide angle lens enables the photographer to capture a larger portion of the background and to take advantage of an increased depth of field, which results in an artistic approach to the image. When photographing large subjects, a wide angle lens enables the photographer to capture the whole subject without getting farther away from it. The advantage is obvious: the closer you are to the subject, the less water volume between your subject and your lens. This provides you with the opportunity to reveal more details in your image, while keeping your artificial light source within an efficient range.

* For further information regarding external light sources, please see Tip#1.

"Wet" Wide Angle Lenses

"Wet" Wide Angle Lenses are lens accessories that fit onto the housing's lens port and can be installed and removed during the course of the dive. Water acts like a blue filter which diminishes the vibrant colors of the tropical sea. When installed on the housing's lens port, a Wide Angle Lens enables you to capture larger subjects and seascapes without moving further away from them, thereby reducing the amount of water between your lens and your subject.

Fantasea Accessory Lenses

Fantasea optic products are designed to enhance and improve your underwater images with respect to sharpness, focus range, colors and overall image quality. Fantasea Line offers a selection of "wet" accessory lenses that fit onto the housing's lens port and can be installed and removed during the course of the dive. These accessory lenses are mounted on the housing lens port and held in place by a 46 mm aluminum screw thread. Fantasea accessory lenses are compatible with Fantasea and many other brands compact digital housings. Lens adaptors allow these lens accessories to be used on a wide variety of housings.
